after enjoying a glorious day of sunshine here in the Ankai and Tankai Forts, we marched towards our last peak of the day- Gorakhgad Peak. To watch the sun’s final act. Sunsets here in the mountains are a beauty to behold. They are not as sudden as the ocean or desert. it is much more gradual. This evening it started when the sun dropped low enough in the sky to be partially blocked by the towering peaks of Gorakhgad.
we must travel..not for anyone else but for ourselves only..to explore..to discover
beams of sunlight were still peeking through the rocks and lighting up parts of the trail. The red and golden leaves seemed to delight in this last kiss of sunshine and glowed even brighter than usual. I watched peacefully while this dance of light and dark, sunbeams and shadows continued on while the evening air cooled in the growing twilight.
you need a vision to see simple things beautifully
Finally, in front of me the sky itself began to change slowly going from blue and yellow to red, pink, and purple and finally to black.
you must climb before you enjoy the view
But it was not dark. from back, Soothing dim light of the moon had already entered into the horizon. Maybe that was the day for which I have been waiting my entire life.
you need not worry about the stars when you can catch the full moon
As this Heavenly show ended the night settled in and the stars began to appear in the sky. I pulled my coat closer around me for warmth and sat on a rock.
i see the moon..i see love<
We all fantasize about a night on top of a mountain, under the sky full of stars and hoping the night to be a full moon night. But to be there, you have to travel my friends. You have to travel the complete day to witness a glorious night. No music could be more Soothing than the bird’s chirping. To enjoy the nature you have to lose yourself in nature. Forget headphones, music. Forget all your worries. Just look at the sky from the top of a large rock. The moon and its Charisma.
I didn’t want the night to be over. We slept there on the base of a temple and I felt sorry that it was going to be over, but I knew that tomorrow the sun would rise again to warm and brighten the Earth once more.
mountain..sunrise..what more you need to stay positive!!!
How sweet the morning air is!!! The Forts in front of me never looked that beautiful. with the sun rising behind them and the rays partiality blocked by the mountains and rest getting reflected by the rocks.
there i was, before the sun rise..to collect the first ray in my hand
It’s dawn after darkness. And we got a perfect start to March our final journey to Katra peak.
We walked around one hour to reach the base village Katrawadi. On the way, you will find some beautiful landscapes with ponds, mountains surrounded by tall oaks.
mountains are the only things that make my adrenaline run…
You can get a glimpse of the famous Hadbi chi Shendi on your way. It’s popularly known as Thumps up pinnacle because of its shape. After reaching Katrawadi you have to take left and the road will lead you to Kapil muni ashram, which is the base temple of Katra peak.
Difficulty level : moderate but slightly difficult than the rest. Because you have to climb the rocks sometimes using both of your hands.
Must do : you must wear full sleeves t-shirt and full trouser and proper rock climbing shoes.
What to see : well let the pictures do the talking now. Because always words can’t describe what we see.
Hadbi chi Shendi or the ‘thumps up’ pinnacle
